S-311-P-839, S-311-P-840 and S-311-P-841 Rev. B approvals expand Minco’s NASA-qualified heater portfolio
MINNEAPOLIS — September 28, 2026 — Minco Products, Inc. has received NASA approval for flexible heaters under three NASA Goddard Space Flight Center specifications:
- S-311-P-839: Polyimide heaters using an FEP-based adhesive system
- S-311-P-840: Polyimide heaters using a thermosetting acrylic adhesive system
- S-311-P-841 Rev. B: All-polyimide heaters without an internal adhesive layer
The specifications establish construction-specific requirements for qualification, production screening, testing, workmanship, traceability and retention of qualification for high-reliability space applications.
The approvals build on Minco’s long-standing relationship with NASA. Throughout its history, Minco has supported NASA missions with thermal-control technologies and has collaborated with NASA in developing specifications for flexible heaters used in spaceflight applications. This continuing relationship has helped establish rigorous standards for heater construction, testing and reliability.
Minco’s qualified portfolio allows engineers to select among established FEP construction, large-format acrylic construction and high-performance all-polyimide technology. Potential applications include spacecraft batteries, propulsion systems, tanks, valves, instruments, electronics and structural surfaces.
Minco also manufactures thin-film platinum RTDs, flex circuits and integrated heater-and-sensor assemblies, providing complementary heating, sensing and interconnect capabilities from a single supplier.
NASA approval applies to the specific products, constructions and manufacturing processes covered by Minco’s qualification documentation. Customers should consult Minco to confirm the appropriate specification and configuration for their application.
