Insulators are pieces of pre-baked ceramic fiber paper, factory trimmed to dimensionally match catalog mica heaters.
Place between a mica heater and the backing plate to help evenly distribute clamping force to the heater.
Insulators also help lessen heat loss on the non-heat sink side of the heater.
