I need to apply the thermofoil heaters from your company to heat some thin film areas over temperature range about -50C~+120C. The thickness of heaters is comparable with the target thin films. The materials of the thin films are metal alloys and you can estimate the thermal conductivity and specific heat. Thermal grease is to be applied in between the heater and thin films to keep good thermal contact. The dimension of applied areas will be in cm scale (1cm~10cm).
In this application, the heat capacity of the heater itself will be comparable with that of the target and hence needs to be precisely computed in order to compute the exact heat input to the target areas. Therefore, we need to know:
1). In the scale of cm, can the thermofoils can be taken as uniform over the entire foil areas, or area-dependent? Do we need to apply a Al tape or Cu tape to keep the area uniformity?
2). Can the heat capacity be taken as the same per unit area for all circuits of the same kind, or it has to be calculated individually per each circuit piece of foils?
3). I believe that the specific heat of kaptons are strongly temperature-dependent over the range I cited, and hence the heaters. Are there equations or tables of heat capacity data for me please?
4). How much the contributions to heat capacity by thermal greases and epoxies? Are there any methods to calculate that?
