    Does an electric water heater in a garage need to be elevated 18" off the floor?Cool [H]

    I am not an expert in the use of electric water heaters but I did a google search and found the following URL that might help (www.ci.arlington.Tx.us/build/faq.html  )    The 18" elevation is intended to keep ignition sources above these vapors that are heavier then air and settle at the garage floor.
