Minco Introduces S209 Series Stator RTDs

Innovative design delivers improved durability for thin profile applications

Minneapolis, MN, September 7, 2011—Minco, a global provider of flexible heaters, flex circuits, sensors and instruments for advanced applications, today announced its new S209 Series stator RTDs. The new sensors, used in slots between stator windings to monitor temperature rise and prevent overheating, offer improved robustness during installation and operation for applications requiring thin-profile (0.030" thick) RTDs.

"Our knowledge of our customers' applications is vital to our product development activities at Minco," noted Wayne Olson, director of Minco's sensors & instruments business unit. "Our engineers talk to our customers and understand the real-world challenges they face. This interaction enables our engineering teams to develop products – like our new S209 Series sensors – that offer significant advantages to our customers."

To deliver improved durability, the S209 Series offers significant innovations as compared to traditional thin-profile stator RTDs, including:

  • Flexible portion of stick allows the lead anchor section to bend out of the way of the coils to prevent damage
  • Robust AWG 18 leads reduce potential damage to the lead wires
  • Shrink tubing at the lead exit provides added strain relief to protect against damage

S209 Series stator RTDs are available now, and can be configured with a variety of element types, variable body length and width, and variable lead length. This product is patent pending.
